ENGLAND ATHLETICS MEMBERSHIP

As an affiliated England Athletics club, runFAR® can process your own membership which will bring you many benefits.  Download a copy of the EA Membership Benefits by clicking here.

We are a little different in that we do not have mandatory bundling of the EA Membership fee with other fees, so this means you can just register through us and save on this fee.  In line with our policy to operate Team #runFAR as a free community running club, we are offering EA membership registration for £25 which includes a #runFAR neck buff.

If you would like to register, then please select your membership option below and we will be in touch with you about your application.

Why not choose a virtual challenge option with your EA membership?

Stay motivated by choosing a #runFAR Monthly Distance Challenge.  Each virtual challenge applies to the first full month following your EA membership registration.  So for instance, if you join in February, then your first challenge will be applied to March, and so on.

If you select the 2, 6 or 12 challenge option, then these will begin on the first full month following your membership.

Virtual Challenges - What are they, and what types do you do?

runFAR®  offers a range of virtual challenges to keep you motivated and inspired.  From individual Monthly Distance Challenges, Quick Challenges and Team Challenges, we are here to make sure you stay active and focused.  This is achieved through our social media posts, Facebook and Strava Groups, and of course - the lure of our very desirable bling!  Take a look below at some of our challenge packages.

  • Monthly Distance Challenge

Each month, runFAR® launches a new medal to help motivate our challengers to achieve their monthly target distance.

Challenges are available from 5 miles to 500 miles, and can be completed by running, walking, cycling, rowing, swimming, or any other way that you might move (apart from mechanical movement!)  Challenges can be completed in one activity, or can accumulate throughout the month.

Our unique medal designs form part of the reward pack for our challenges.  Throughout the month, everyone receives online motivation, encouragement and support from the runFAR® social groups, coaches and community.

Challengers are able to adjust their target mileage throughout the month, before submitting their evidence t the end of the month.

  • Bite Size Challenges and Medal of the Month

    Bite Size Challenges

Bite Size challenges are usually avaialble as 1k, 2k, 3k, 5k and 10k distances.  THey are designed to apply to one activity, although as a challenger, you can decide how you complete it.

These are often based on particular runs such as Virtual London, City Run, Trail Run, or are themed on current issues such as the Lockdown Legend and the Union Challenge. The Bite-Size challenges must be completed within 6 weeks of purchase.

    Medal of the Month

You will also be entered in to the The Medal of the Month which is usally very topical, current, and available in distances of 1k to 10k.

Challenges such as the Resolution Run, Challenge Mum, Easter Challenge and the Independance Run give a great focus to a specific activity for that month.

Available for 5k to 10k distances, and are also also avaialble for bespoke distances and bespoke wording on the insert tabs.

  • Team Challenges

Team Challenges are designed for Community Members or Businesses who are looking for a bigger, more regular challenge with friends and colleagues to help team building and promote fitness.

Our most recent event was a Lands End to John O'Groats 874 mile challenge, completed by 2 teams of 20 people, all witin 5 weeks.  This means that everyone had to complete 9 miles (3 x 5k) each week to help the team complete the challenge.

Each week, a chart that plots each persons efforts is published, which really does help with the motivation!  If there are injuries, then other members of the team can "donate" extra miles they have completed.

Other Team Challenges include the London to Tokyo Olympic Route; Journey to the North Pole; and the European Landmarks Challenge.

Details of the Team Challenges are published in the community pages, and can be arranged for corporate and social groups by request.  Please contact us on events@runfar.co.uk if you woul dlike us to organise a team challenge for you.
